२२० ઉપવાસમાં બળાત્કાર નથી બાપુ કહે : “ કશી મુશ્કેલી નથી પડવાની, જે સવર્ણોમાં આપણને કહેવામાં આવે છે એટલું જોર હોય છે. ” વલભભાઈ : “ પણ સ્ત્રીઓનું શું? દરવાજા ઉઘાડવાના ટ્રસ્ટીઓના હાથમાં છે.” બાપુ કહે : { તેનું કાંઈ નહીં. સવર્ણો ગઈ વખતે હજારોની સંખ્યામાં ત્યાં પહોંચ્યા હતા અને મંદિરના કમજો લઈને બેઠા હતા, અંદર ઉપવાસ કરવા લાગ્યા હતા તેમ બેસી જાય તો તુરત ખૂલે. હા, સંભવ છે કે એ લોકો મંદિરના દરવાજા બંધ કરી દે, ત્યાં માર્શલ લૈ જાહેર કરે અને પાસ લઈને જનારાને જ જવા દે અને અમારે મરવું પડે. તોયે હરકત નથી. બીજા ધણા મરવાને માટે તો તૈયાર જ છે.” રાત્રે સૂતી વખતે કહે : * મને આ ઉપવાસ વિષે પહેલા ઉપવાસ કરતાં પણ વિશેષ નિરાંત છે. બળાત્કારની વાત મિથ્યા છે; હું કાઈ ને ધમકી થાડી આપું છું ? સીને પોતાનો મત પ્રિય છે. તો તેમને તે માત્ર એટલું જ છે કે તેઓ પોતાની લાગણી કરતાં મારી જિંદગીને પ્રિય ગણે છે કે નહીં ? ન ગણે તો જતી કરે.” આજે ગુરુદેવ, નટરાજન, અંબાલાલને કાગળ લખ્યા. ગુરુદેવને લખ્યું : You must have seen the statement 20-88-3 I have circulated to the press.
